I'm The End, but if I like you, feel free to call me Billie. That's Billie, with an "-ie" at the end. Yes, it matters. Billy is traditionally a male spelling, Billie is the female spelling. Pretty spiffy, eh? But I've already digressed, and this is merely my introduction!
I don't really know what to say about myself. I enjoy reading a lot, and have always been very enthralled with pen-and-paper games. Lately, though, I've been seeking a less rules-centered medium of role-playing. After trudging through Google for many hours, (having several chuckles at the innumerable "SEXY TIME ROLEPLAY CLICK HERE" sites along the way,) I managed to stumble through here. After reading the rules, I was initially saddened by the requirement for post length. Then I realized that sweet zombie Jesus, that's bloody brilliant!
This is also my first forum/message-boarding experience outside of 4chan, so if I seem a bit crass at first, please bear with me. Here's hoping that everybody has an enjoyable time, and that nobody notices how I snuck around actually introducing myself with a nice chunk of text.

Hey there, Billie, welcome to FOG, and glad you found us! (Even if it was through the mine-field of such sites, lol)
If you have any questions about the site, feel free to ask myself or any of the other Mods questions. It might take some time getting used to whats what, especially if you're so new at this, but don't be shy!
What has me curious: anything in particular you care to read? Any favorite authors? (If you like talking about books, we've got a thread for that too!)

I like to read a nice blend of old and new. Neitzche, Stephen King, Lovecraft, Oscar Wilde, Anne Rice, some of Jane Austen. In reference to genre, I like to stick mostly to high-fantasy and horror, but lately I've been flirting with mystery and (for some reason) westerns.
And thanks for the welcome, of course. I'm not usually a polite person, but I suppose that one good deed deserves another, just as easily as an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.

Lovecraft, I haven't read any of his works for a LONG time, but I've always enjoyed them. Anne Rice, same situation. (Though, in all honesty, I never really got into Stephen King. Read Salem's Lot; wasn't impressed. Sadly. And the movie was horrid! But amusing for the amount of cheese it produced.)
Have you ever read anything by Joe Abercrombie, or Stephen Lynch? (Currently, my favorite two authors, though Lynch takes the gold star.) More of a fantasy base, Lynch isn't as well known but really should be.
I take it that high-fantasy is a topic you'd be most likely interested in for an RP; have any stories brewing in your head at the moment, or are you going to wing it. (Always fun!)

I can understand people not liking King's work, although if you aren't reading it for the aforementioned cheese, you're doing it wrong. For a horror author, the man's tongue-in-cheek insights into his character's predicaments have an undeniably comedic bent. That's what I love about it.
I've never heard of either of them, and that's probably a terrible shame. I'll have to write those down for future reading.
At the moment, I'm considering joining the Ten Kingdoms casual roleplay. Since it has a clear D&D base, I shouldn't make too big of an idiot of myself there.

Welcome to the site! Nice you have here! I am also a fantasy fan. I am not much into Stephan King but I'll give you a good fantasy author. It takes commitment to read her books though. The whole series is about twelve books if I remember correctly. Her name is Katherine Kerr. Lovely writer.
As for you being new, don't worry about it! We were all new at one point. I am sure you'll make friends and enjoy yourself. You already made a friend out of me love. ^.~

And we'll be right with ya every step o' the way.
So look around! Enjoy the swirly mists! You never know what you'll find. ^^

Thanks for the very enthused welcome! You should be a motivational speaker!
And believe it or not, Googling "adult roleplaying forum" yields your site. One of the few times that it can be beneficial to underthink your google queries, it seems.

*tries*
On what page did we come up?
How are we ever going to get found if it's taboo to search for us?? xD
Maybe if we made an actual site called "Advanced Roleplaying," and had "Advanced Roleplaying" in the title, and "Advanced Roleplaying" as one or two sub-pages, and "Advanced Roleplaying" everywhere in posts, we'd get somewhere.

I read quite a bit of Stephen King myself. He is quite an interesting author and I enjoy seeing the creatures and places he thinks up. I must say though that I Have not found his books to be horror books at all.

Welcome to FoG, Billie.
Not gtfo! We dun accept them there fer-chan pahple to this here site. :: spits some chew into a rusty can ::
Okay... That actually took a lot of effort to type, so I'll just never do it again.
Anyway, it's always nice to find other avid readers on the site. I read tons. I'm currently reading The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny, but I'm only on the second chapter of the first book in it so far. ^^_^^
Have you ever heard of GoodReads.com? It's a pretty nifty site where you can review books and such. Then again, if you want to stick to this site, there's always the What Are You Reading? thread.
Shades, isn't Stephen Lynch a comedic musician? I had no idea he wrote books... unless you're referring to an author who uncannily has the same name?

Welcome to FoG! I think you will enjoy your stay here and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. Everyone is nice around here.
Except me. I am a grumpy old man. Except I am not old. Or grumpy. Or the exception.
Anyway, see you around FoG!

4chan? That's..not a forum, it's an imageboard. Huge difference, mainly the fact that inactive topics/threads disappear.
Other than that, welcome to FOG, where it's autumn, spring, and summer all at once!

Re: Sup /FOG/?
Billie, yeah. One has to be patient... especially me with my dial-up. Sometimes, if I go there, I can't adjust things like the changing of shelves for books that I've read or want to read or am currently reading. However, I really like it there. It allows me to keep track of everything I've read or want to read, and that's just awesome to have all in one place. Plus, I've won like... four books from that place, so that's also spiffy. ^^_^^
Shades, aww! I'm glad I could help you correct your error. Is it bad that I'm disappointed that Stephen Lynch doesn't actually write fiction?

hahahah Yeah. I've only heard a few songs because Misery gave me some YouTube links and sang some for me, and the guy is sooo hilarious. I would love to read the kinds of characters he would create in a story.

Re: Sup /FOG/?
The best ab workout I have ever had was an olympic track runner from Zimbabwe turned trainer named Cyrill. Also, even more impressive, his mother one a silver medal while being pregnant in said field. However, he can be quite funny.
Welcome Billie, enjoy the site, read around, and ignore the grammar in this 'sentence.' I am avid reader, but I feel most of Stephen King's works are production works. He can write beautifully if he isn't churning out pages from editing. On the other hand, I am an avid sci-fi and fantasy nerd, so I really can't criticize much on that basis. Also, I think I got Kalon's reference, and my nerdiness just increased two levels. Ding?

Hi Billie, I think I love you. 4chan is my homeboy.
I'm surprised anyone from that site would actively roleplay, lol, I'd think that most 4channers would be like, "Oh, that's a gay thing to do." It's like some sort of sin.
