I am Redneck.
Hey all.
My name's HenchmenF, and I've been RPing on and off for about three years now.
In real-life, i am a highschool student (Sophmore), and hoping to land a job later down the line in Film or Video Game Script-writing.
As for stuff i like to do, i enjoy playing video games, watching films, playing airsoft and paintball, listening to music, chilling with friends, and...*cough*reading*cough*.
As for Genere's, theres only one type of role-play i can-not stand. Anime. I, however, enjoy Roleplays that are pique my interset. So, you could expect to see me in a Crime RP, a War RP, or a Post-Apoc RP. As for characters, you can expect me to play as one of three things; The Comic-Relif guy, A Redneck (Which i am.), or, as whatever comes across my mind.
If you guys have any question's about me, PM me.
One last thing, i usually type my RP posts up in Microsoft Word before I post them. However, I'm using an older Microsoft Word then what some of you guys and gals will be using. So, if theres spelling mistakes, please forgive me.

Re: I am Redneck.
I love you for saying "pique" instead of "peak," but then you had to put the "are" in there, ruining the sentence.Roleplays that are pique my interset.
Well sir, you've piqued MY interest!
Welcome to the FOG, HenchmenF! I have a feeling you'll fit in quite nicely around here. And if you don't, I'm quite confident you'll effortlessly carve your own niche.
There's lots to do and see around here, and plenty ready to extend answers to questions and advice on grammar and a character for role-play. Explore at your liesure, and enjoy the swirly mists!
Re: I am Redneck.
Hey there- welcome aboard! It seems we share quite a few interests. Feel free to make yourself at home- people here have proven incredibly friendly, from what I've found.
Enlighten me- what's your standard airsoft loadout? Do you have a particular theme you're going for, or do you mix and match for personal preference?

Re: I am Redneck.
Well, i perfer to use my AKMS, but, since all my friends who don't play airsoft want to use when we play, i'm usually using my Tri-Shot shotgun.
As for theme, i'm going for whatever looks. If i had to pick a theme, i would have to say i was going much more of a "Milita" feel. I wear as little gear as possible (since i mainly play as a Scout or a Flanker) and i often wear whats comfrotable. So, you can sometimes see me rocking the field with blue jeans and a camflauged jacket.

Re: I am Redneck.
Please watch the grammar and spelling, Hench. Some of us come here to get away from our pet roleplay peeves, and one of them is usually bad sentence structure. You're new at the moment, so I don't think anyone's going to let it bother them just yet.
Anyway, welcome. I'd usually be roleplaying a particularly evil talking cat who talks in third person to welcome you1, but I just found out that the cat character is a little too evil. Best not to go with that just yet, I feel. >.>
No-one likes a scary, furniture throwing, evil Grammar Nazi kitty in their first thread.
1 Because I find it funny.

Re: I am Redneck.
Welcome to FoG, Henchmen.
Because you said that your Word doesn't check all of your spelling properly, I would like to educate you about two words that I noticed you misspelled: sophomore and genre. I hope in the future you spell those two correctly.
Kalon... I don't really think that "pique" is right, not for the way you guys are using it. It has a negative connotation no matter how it's used, and you're using it in a positive light in your post... so... yeah...
Maybe that's just me being too technical? I'm just going to try to not use the word "pique" at all unless it fits with a negative sort of way. There are almost always a ton of ways to state or ask one thing, so yeah... hahah
Anyway, Henchmen, I am very inclined to agree with Bad Kitty. Even in the OoC where it's more relaxed, it's still a bit frowned upon to ignore the rules of grammar and spelling. If you ever need help, you can always ask one of the multitudes of people who have a decent grasp on them. I, for one, am definitely willing to help any who are willing to learn.
I hope you enjoy your stay. ^^_^^

Re: I am Redneck.
It has one positive definition as well. In fact, you posted it up there:
The word 'especially' is important here; it means that it doesn't have to be used in connotations of a challenge, provocation or rebuff. 'Piquing interest', therefore, could simply mean that interest has been aroused or excited by a person, situation or thing. It fits perfectly well, in fact, if the thing or situation is challenging.
It can still be positive in this way; in the context of looking forward to a challenging roleplay, for example.
...
H-uh. Debate about the finer points of grammar in a newbie introduction thread. Who'd have thunk it?

Re: I am Redneck.
"OH MY GOD!"
"ANOTHER PERSON THAT HAS NEARLY THE SAME INTERESTS AS ME."
"What is this, the 3rd of 4th person?"
"I'm going nuts, I tell ya, nuts!"
Ragter proceeds to jump out a window.
"welcome to FOG by the way!"
Ragter hits the ground, gets up, and walks off.

Re: I am Redneck.
Oh. I hadn't thought about it that way, Bad Kitty. I guess you're right that it's not all bad. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
OH! Henchmen! I wanted to tell you that Hello Danger is also a user on FoG that wants to be a script writer at some point. Maybe you two could get along with that common goal in mind?

Re: I am Redneck.
I have to look this up for myself, now. xD
pique (pēk')
n.
A state of vexation caused by a perceived slight or indignity; a feeling of wounded pride.
tr.v. piqued, piqu·ing, piques
1. To cause to feel resentment or indignation.
2. To provoke; arouse: The portrait piqued her curiosity.
3. To pride (oneself): He piqued himself on his stylish attire.
[French, a prick, irritation, from Old French, from piquer, to prick, from Vulgar Latin *piccre, ultimately of imitative origin.]
So, yes, like Bad Kitty said, 'to pique one's curiosity' or 'to pique one's interest' are both proper uses of the word.
I was, however, happy to learn of all the OTHER uses of pique.
I really had no idea it could mean all that. Thanks, Kathryn!

Re: I am Redneck.
No problem! My brain, unsurprisingly, just stuck on the negative uses of it, so I wasn't so sure that "pique" was correct. I'm glad to be corrected, for now I'm able to use it properly. ^^_^^

Re: I am Redneck.
It's quite interesting that pique has three different ranges of meaning, from interest to pride to indignation, depending on how you use that one word...

OH DEAR GOD!!!! GRAMMAR LESSONS!!!!
Now that that is out of the way. Welcome to FoG HenchmenF. I have a feeling if you dodge the grammar teachers you should be ok around here.
Anyway on a more serious note it is rather unusual for a topic to become overburdened with lessons like this one did but it does happen. Anyway useful grammar lessons aside I think you will fit in just fine here. I hope to see you around FoG!
