Apocolyptic Sci-Fi

I had this bit posted up under Advanced, but seeing how it kept being overlooked, I've settled with isolating the piece and putting it here. So... Here's my idea.

End of the World:
I haven't ever tried a Sci-Fi rp before, but I was smacked with an idea and it's sort of obsessed my mind ever since. Hello apocolyptic earth! There you were, floating in orbit, minding your own buisness when harvesting evil aliens landed and started slaughtering everyone. They dimished their own resources and now they're after ours! And they're winning... Cities are destroyed, only a few thousand humans have survived, and now they're all scattered across the globe in hiding. There's a group of a few hundred left, a heavily trained military group who are calling themselves the "Resistance". Their doing what they can with what they have, but because of logic they know that they can't last forever in the conditions they're in.

But not to worry! Unbeknownst to them, as well as to the evil aliens who are demolition happy, a small band of "Sa' uim" have landed on earth. The Sa 'uim are another alien race who oppose the evil guys. The small team of five are like the Tiger teams for the Marines, they're stealthy, well trained, and know what they're doing. This small group was sent to investigate the turmoils of the planet, unknowing that there are human survivors, and when they discover the resistence, they've got to figure out if they should use the humans as a distraction for the evil guys; or if they should help save whats left of their species.

I'm looking for someone interested in playing the Resistance, the group of humans struggling to keep their home planet, stuck in the middle of an intergalatic war between the two races. Yay drama, violence and explosions!

I find that idea of this role play interesting. The aliens are obviously going to have highly advanced technology, but what level is humanity at?

This would be taking place in the not too distant future, maybe in about 50 years from now. (Got to keep it challenging But at the same time, this'll give some creative freedom with adding some new 'toys' to the arsonal.)

Excellent. There's a lot of info I have on the two alien races that would be dropping on earth, including their ships, weapons, and 'abilities', I've every intention of posting that info up, now that someone has some interests of it. If you want to, go ahead and make a profile for your character(s) (You don't have to, but I know people like doing it. I'm one of those ) Any questions you've got, feel free to ask, I'll be flittering here on and off all day.

I am correct in assuming that this is our earth right? Or is there something else different about it? Also how long has the invasion began going on?

You're correct. It's our earth, the only difference is that it takes place some fifty odd years ahead. And as for the invasion; a few months, roughly 7 or 8 at best. The earth's population has seriously taken a drop, (Think a couple hundred thousand people scattered across the world, they're all grouping together, and most 'groups' think that they're the last to resist the invasion)

Small request. Can the United States in your rp have gained a military division that is actively trying to make super soldiers? (By super, well I don't mean that superhuman abilities, just small improvements to them.)

I've been speaking with Spectre about this over PM's. From reading this thread alone, I want to join in. I've got plenty of info to offer that might make this RP even better than it already is. If nothing else, I want to help make the military side of things feel real (not that you aren't doing a good job, I just wanna make it that much better!) Right now though, I need to go to bed, as I've got work to do tomorrow.

Sorry for lagging behind on this. I am going to make a character for this story, wait for your approval, and jump right in. I would also LOVE to discuss some future military tech. I realize that as a beaten down resistance force that they wouldn't have all of their cutting edge stuff, but since it IS in the future we could at least have some sort of advanced tech.
