I have another picture. I took it yesterday. This angle isn't normally the most flattering because it tends to produce a false double-chin, but I managed to prevent that fake fattums look, and I really love the colours in the background, so I've decided to post that picture here.

So...for those of you who were following my obnoxious countdown to this past weekend, I had a fantastic time ^_^. And now here are a few pictures of the highlights!

My costume - I was Robin Hood!


It was so great seeing him this weekend ^_^. Unfortunately, it was dark when we took this picture, and I think the flash sorta blinded him. Oops...


All the volunteers got to go on a haunted barge ride on the lake before the visitors showed up. Alas, he couldn't seem to take a decent picture without looking high as a kite.


Robin Hood and Little Red Riding Hood totally rocked the capes this weekend.


So yeah...my sleep schedule is all screwed up and I'm frantically playing catch-up on my work this week, but it was so worth it. I would start a countdown to Thanksgiving break, but I think I'll spare you all this time

What was your boy's costume supposed to be?


On the 30th, I dressed in my costume ((a Faerie Queen)) and went to work because we were allowed to do that on Saturday and on Sunday. Those who dressed up were automatically entered into the costume contest my work-place has every year, and this is my third one. I got third place my first year and second place last year, so I'm kind of gunning for first this year. =3

This was how I looked on the 30th:

On Halloween, I dressed up again, and because I had more time, I looked better overall. Plus, the lighting was better that day. I made a video for a contest on another site ((I would have had FoG on my sign, but I completely forgot about it. If anyone disputes the idea that I'm real, I'll go ahead and make a sign that says "Kathryn Lacey on FootstepsofGhosts/FoG" to verify.)), and it caused my lover to call me a psycho. XD

Anyway, I also handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. This is what I looked like on Halloween:

As you can see, I reused my ear tips and circlet from last year's elf costume. My lover also bought me that amazing necklace for our two-year anniversary that was on the 26th of October, and it goes so perfectly with the circlet that I had to wear it, too. =3

Yeah, I had a great time, Raine. It was totally worth all the traveling and effort. Needless to say, I'm already looking forward to Thanksgiving break.

Thanks so much, Kathryn! A lot of people really liked my costume, and I had fun wearing it. My crush had a little issue finding a costume, since the stores were already picked over when he went shopping. He ended up wearing a black Japanese haori that he had gotten a long time ago, black pants, a cream-colored shirt, and the hat (He bought that at the store) you see in the second picture. I thought he looked rather dashing in it, personally ^_^. And, Kathryn, you look gorgeous in your costume! The color really brings our your blue eyes. Did you make it? Your lover definitely has great taste with the necklace.

Thanks so much, Fate! To answer your question, I went home for the weekend to volunteer where I did my summer internship at a wildlife reserve on Friday and Saturday night. I was in the herpetarium giving reptile programs mostly. The countdown was mainly because I got to spend most of the weekend with my crush, who was also volunteering. We hung out with a group of our friends for most of the weekend when we weren't working. The volunteer work was really fun, but I was more excited about seeing him than anything, since we hadn't seen each other face to face in two and a half months.

SilvanArrow, I think his costume was good enough. Better to have something small than nothing at all. Going as an Asian when you're Cacasian isn't too horrible a stretch. XD

From what I can tell, you two look really cute together though you should aspire to getting a really good picture of the two at some point.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have any abilities at sewing, so I bought it, but I really love it. It worked well for what I wanted. Also, I'm wearing coloured contacts that make my eyes a darker blue than they actually are, but I'm sure if I wore the costume without them, it would bring out their natural hue. I just don't have any contacts that aren't coloured, and Faerie Queens don't wear glasses. =3

Oh man, I know. He thinks he has no fashion sense, but anything he's ever gotten me that I can wear is so fabulous. He has better style than I do when it comes to me. XD

Fate Foretold, aww. Thankies, hon'. I really love it. I'm glad others do, too. I felt soooo pretty the entire time I was wearing it ((even at work when I had to work seven hours in those feet-killing boots)).

I will definitely let everyone know if I placed at all for the costume contest. I really hope I get first, but if I place at all, I'll be happy - especially if I genuinely feel that the ones who placed ahead of me ((if that happens)) had better getups.

OMG! I know. It's would be my favorite piece of jewelry if not for the fact that the chain like... eats the hair at the nape of my neck. I think if I can find a better chain that matches it, I'll be a lot happier with it because the pendant is amazing.

I was so proud of myself once I was done carving that pumpkin. The only real defect that I made on accident was on his nose. Like... on one side, it's more defined than on the other. That was just a carving accident, though. I swear the stencil I drew had both sides evenly defined. XD

I also had a ton of fun venting my frustrations on the crappiness that awesome pumpkin became. We were keeping it in the refrigerator the whole time, but the detail work in the face was just too delicate, so when it started to decay, there was no helping it. =\
