Our Nation's Anthem!!!
Ok, so I had a friend send this to me and I have to say I've listened to it like 5 times already and EVERYTIME I get goosebumps! The two on the right are 6, the two in the middle are 7, and the one on the left is 8! How amazing talent for such young girls!!! But it's sooo beautiful. Just watch it!

Fun fact.
The American national Anthem is set to the melody of an old English drinking song.

Seriously?! So Key, admist a battle, writes this song...to an old English drinking song? O.o
Well I guess if I was in that situation I'd be thinking of 'a happy place' as well. Funny how his was a bar!

I've lived here for a while, but I've never toured Fort McHenry. Of course, I have been on Federal Hill (to drink, to eat Sushi, and blah-blah-blah) and I saw the Connie at the harbor, but...well yeah.
Anyway, most of my classes at Maryland were also at Francis Scott Key hall, which was actually run down compared to some of the other buildings, but it was kind of homey.

Francis Scott Key wrote a poem about his experience of the bombing of the fort while aboard a British ship that was bombing the fort. That poem was then set to the tune of an English drinking song and then (after being shortened) became our national anthem (a really long time after the battle). This sums it up quite nicely and is actually accurate for being on Wiki.
