Out for a walk

Hello everyone.

If everything goes well, starting monday, I will be missing for around two weeks.

I have planned to do a hiking tour by myself over ca. 280km and several mountains. It is a known and popular route, straight through the blackforest. I will be starting at my hometown, Pforzheim, Germany, and hike to Basel, Swiss.

For the time being, I have a tent with me, some firestuff and whatnot. I will try not to make use of any room booking or eating at restaurants, but staying in nature all the while, cooking and eating, refilling water at sources, etc.

I have bought a new digital camera for the purpose of this trip, to hopefully make loads of pictures to remember and share. Hopefully I will not injure myself, get horribly lost or get myself a cold somewhere on the way.

If I'm not back in two weeks, call the cops. ;P

Wow, this sounds like a lovely idea! It looks absolutely gorgeous too. I'd love to go hiking someday (though not here, in the boring, flat midwest farmlands lol).

There is a pilgrimage walk in Japan somewhere (can't remember where) across one of the islands. It is supposedly one of the most difficult pilgrames (it's been a few years since I heard about it in my Asian religions class). But I would seriously love to do that.

Good luck with your venture! I envy your freedom to walk out of your front door and do such a thing.
