No, oh my gosh, thank God it was still there. I left it in the classroom I was in until 10:00 last night. I wanted to be the first one to get to school, so that I could get in that classroom before anyone else. I got there just before the doors were unlocked to the rooms, and thankfully, it was still there in the computer! I was so, so relieved. *sighs* No more of that, hopefully!!

Why do we (me and my backwoods people here in Southside Virginia) only get SEVERE thunderstorms? For once, can't we have a light rain and melodic assortment of very far off thunders?

My complaint right now is that it's rather difficult to get members. I think when people see that this is a new place and that there aren't too many people yet, they don't join, but because they don't join, then they're only helping to keep it the way that it is. It's always hardest getting off your feet in the beginning.

I'll put up another point that might add to the slow gathering of players: not everyone appreciates the invite pms and emails. I'll be honest Fate and say that you really hurt your image when you sent me that invite. Though admittedly well written, the fact that you had such a small post count, had only joined the site a few days before, and had contacted me out of the blue all worked against you. To me you came off as an underhanded spammer trying take players away from a community I had grown fond of and loyal to.

First impressions are important and is possibly the main reason why I am not active on this site. My impressions are skewed, biased, and hard to shake because of the percieved spam and attack on my primary rping site.

I also know of another person who is not pleased at the advertising and invites she has recieved through pms and emails (I'll admit it is more extrapolation that known fact but the use of the word 'spam' by a person most often isn't used as a compliment). While you might get a few bites with such invites and advertising, I think you're going to earn more enemies than friends unless you actually go out and interact with the people your going to invite first.

Yeah big whoop she invited you to a site. I found this through other means, and if you look passed the fact that she INVITED you to come you would see this site is actually quite amazing.

If you came here to complain then, why bother. She invited you, it doesn't mean you have to turn up just to try and put her down.

My question to you, Forgotten Wolf, is would you rather have had me post around those other message boards - more than likely to have gone unnoticed by most, especially to those I was planning on inviting - just to up my post count before inviting certain persons? Or, perhaps, you would rather have liked me to simply have posted a big advertisement thread in one or more of the forums to get the attention of others, rather than inviting them - in private - personally? Or, possibly, I should have gone to a website that had absolutely nothing to do with role-playing at all, so as not to unintentionally offend the role-playing site I decided to advertise on, and then proceed to do one of the said methods to promote FOG.

Honestly, my method of attracting people to FOG is the closest way to an intimate, private, polite, and respectful technique that I was able to conceive. If you have ideas to improve the ways to promote a role-playing board, then please, feel free to share them with me. But I think you (and perhaps this other person you mentioned) fail to understand that I try my very hardest to be as discrete and deferential as possible.

I complain that baseball season sucks. Whenever little league happens, people always take my parking spot right in front of my house. Today, some idiot parked they're huge, ugly truck right in front of my driveway. Hello?! How the hell did you get a license when you can't grasp the basic concepts of legal and illegal driving? One such basic lesson is: IT IS ILLEGAL TO PARK IN FRONT OF DRIVEWAYS! Dumbasses!

Also... I just want to say that I realized right away that Forgotten Wolf was just giving Fate a heads up rather than trying to hurt her feelings. Perhaps it's because I have often found when I give constructive criticism, many people take it the wrong way, like I'm trying to bring them down a notch.

I'm not saying that I completely agreed with him on everything he said. I was just stating that while I read his post, I didn't catch a whiff of anything purposefully nasty. It just seemed to me that that was his opinion.

Honestly, I'm glad you sent me a PM asking me to join. At the time, I was sort of like, "I don't really feel like role playing." but later I felt better, and I decided to check it out, and I think I kind of like it here better than S*T. It's nice to be a part of something really great from the get-go, especially since I'm one of those people that sometimes feels like, "Oh... well... I didn't start with it, so I can't do it now that it's already so thick into things." >.>;;

Hrm... Complaints... complaints... About what should I complain? :: taps chin in contemplation ::

OH! I complain that during the beginning of this week, I had to remember the hard way the reason that I take medication to get me to sleep. I forgot to take my Seroquel one night, and I just went to bed. It took me two and half hours ((give or take a few minutes)) to get to sleep, and I woke up frequently throughout the night. It was probably around 3am when I finally managed to fall asleep for the first time, and I awakened around 8am. It was a total crock of shit. I wish I wasn't so dependent on a drug to obtain something so necessary, but I've been an insomniac since I was fourteen, and I only discovered Seroquel when I was seventeen, so yeah. That is far too long a time to lose so much sleep.

I agree. I don't think Forgotten Wolf's intention was to be mean or troublesome. Like I said, I was grateful for their advice, which they expanded on through PMs. :]

Oh my goodness, Kathryn. That just sounds like such a horrible night, first with not being able to get to bed for so long, and then waking up multiple times afterward. I'm sorry that you've been struggling with insomnia. I can't imagine that being a pleasant thing to have to deal with, but thankfully there are medications. Just don't go getting yourself dependent on them or addicted. <3



I complain that...well, that it's getting late and I still feel as if there are many more things left for me to accomplish. I always feel as if the days go by so fast. Tomorrow, I really need to work on my Flash game for my final project. I would also like to get going with my role-plays, or perhaps start a new one. I've been debating opening myself up to any more RPs right now though, since I am leery about my time, but seeing that things are kind of falling into place that way now, I think I just may. We'll see how it goes. I still need to finish my characters anyway.

Aww, I know you were looking forward to that Shades, hehe. We had some severe weather a few nights ago and some extremely loud thunder. I think it might have been very close, since it was loud enough to wake onenitedrive and I both up, and it lasted for awhile before fading out. That kind of storm scares me!
