i'm not shy around roleplaying forums, so here goes!
hello, there. i'm christina (: and i...
but i'm down for anything if it has a good plot.
though i can't say i like science fiction stuff.
i do enjoy horror and romance though.
all you really need to do it ask. (:
but, ah, i'll be dawdling around the forums now.
thanks for reading (:
hello, there. i'm christina (: and i...
- go by cdawgg, chrissy, chris, or nina.
- live the straightedge life and have for eighteen years.
- am notorious for using lowercase letters.
- am a college student at wilmington university.
- am a lifeguard and have cpr lessons a, b, and c.
- am pigeon-toed, meaning i walk with my toes in.
- want to be a plastic surgeon for burn victims.
- will have arthritis from texting someday.
- can make my own sushi.
- like long walks on the beach. [hint, hint. ahah.]
- like using chopsticks to eat chicken nuggets.
- have the voice of a twelve year old.
but i'm down for anything if it has a good plot.
though i can't say i like science fiction stuff.
i do enjoy horror and romance though.

Yo dawgg, wassup?

I couldn't resist. ):
Welcome to FOG, Chrissy! For like, two seconds I thought you were someone I knew, just because of the name. But that's me being over general. I think it's awesome that you know CPR and want to help burn victims. I learned CPR and got my license, but I hardly remember how to actually perform it...

Hey there, cdawgg!
Wow, being a plastic surgeon for burn victims would be an extremely fulfilling job. That's something great to strive towards. I also really envy that you can make your own sushi! *mouth waters* That would be nice. My fiancé has a friend who makes his own sushi too. Lol chopsticks and chicken nuggets. Can't say I've ever seen that. You sound like a cool person.
Have fun here, and if you have any questions or need help with something, don't hesitate to ask!

Me neither - so basically, all your life? Very nice.
Welcome to FOG Chrissy (which is what I will call you - either that or Chris - because "cdawgg" coming from the typing fingers of someone as old as me sounds just plain silly.) And as long as the poor capitalization stays in the OOC, it's all good. Wonderful to have you, and I look forward to seeing you around. *grins*

thanks a ton for the warm welcomes! (:
it's iiight, lay-baybay!
... yeah, my attempt was just as bad ):
maybe you do know me (: from another site or something. i generally never change my name. ahah. and well, gee, thanks! since i'm a lifeguard, we get our cards updated every month. so the cpr process is pretty routine to me. just remember, when putting on the aed pads, put them in the right spots. (;
i do believe that you were teh one who sent me the invite. i didn't consider joining up until now, so, i'm glad for the warm welcome so many months later! (: mm, sushi is fairly easy to make, you just need the right rice! ...and chopsticks and dinosaur chicken nuggests are the only way to go. seriously.
i'll take that as a compliment? (:
yes ma'am! all my life is correct (: and yes yes yes. i can assure you that my lowercase goes to everything but in character threads. i've made sure to type properly with the people i play with (: and chrissy is fine, call me chris if you want to type something shorter. (:

Some of us have been around long enough to understand the history of the movement and appreciate the philosophy beyond mere "don't drink and don't do drugs."
I've lived in the DC area, where it started. I can agree with much of it, even if I'm no edger myself.

straightedge...that's where you like, don't do drugs and don't drink, right?
Proud to say that I don't do that either...I mean, why would you want to make yourself dumber like that? :/
ANYWAYS, serious mode off, the fact that you like walks on the beach and that you have the voice of a 12 year old? Must be kinda hard to get dates, huh?
:p Welcome to FOG, in any case.

oh, is that right? ahaha. but i bet you have your nonedger reasons.
dc is a pretty nice place though, so i can see the 'no sex, drugs or alcohol' thing starting there. well, maybe not so much the sex thing since it's bound to happen everywhere. but you get what i mean.

i sure do hope i can stick to them also; i'm going to be getting very large holes in my pockets with tuition, y'see. but it'll pay off in the end, i'm sure.
thank you very much for the warm welcome. i look forward to getting very involved in the community! (:

well, in my knowledge, it's 'no drugs, drinking, smoking, or sex'. so, hah. yeah. but, yay for our above the influence lifestyles! (:
tch, tell me about it. it's so hard to find a northern boy who appreciates my twelve-year-old voice. i feel so underappreciated! [le sigh.] and the beach is about an hour and a half away from me since my family and i go to the beaches in new jersey. most boys, surpsingly, don't like roadtrips.
bah, who needs 'em? i like my voice no matter what (:

I never heard of the no sex bit, but straightedge started as a rejection of the 1970's and 1980's commercial excess of disco, which included copious consumption of drugs, alcohol and fashion victimhood, so I can see casual sex being a no-no, as that was also part of the era. But, above all, it's a rejection of the corruptive influences of consumer society at large, and a philosophy of staying healthy and keeping your mind from getting fogged over by addiction and so forth. It's not just about what you do, but why you do it. It's about not conforming and taking responsibility for yourself.
It's also about strength of will, something society seems to chisel away at.
As it stands, there's a lot of societal pressure to have sex casually and have a lot of it as a status thing in many ways, and straightedge has a very strong line on resisting that sort of influence and not letting those sorts of things form your basis for judgment.
Ian MacKay wrote the song that started it after a friend died from an OD, and decided to attack at the root causes of societal pressure that could eventual lead to drug use -- he always was heavily anti-commercial, as his subsequent career confirms.
Like I said, there's lots to admire in the whole philosophy. I always thought it taught the virtue of abstention without the moral hypocrisy that many religions throw in-- it justifies that abstention for the benefits, not merely because one is following the rules, much as Stoicism justifies self-control overall in very utilitarian terms, rather than just making self-responsible behavior a commandment or something.
So yeah, straightedge is a modern philosophy with lots of good company and I always respected it.

You like crazy people? That might explain a lot..
Yes, I am mysterious, I even wear a robe that obscures most of my face and cackle maniacally for no real reason at all.

crazy is good. well, the fun kind of crazy. the mentally crazy... erm. can't say i like it as much.
but maybe you should start saying 'zetta' with everything you say to people in public instead. i can't see you as a hooded/cloaked figure. plus, it would make you ten times more mysterious. [nods.] because i definitely peeked at your signature and the world ends with you is just that amazing, ya'know?
though, personally, rhyme was my favorite. (: she was sooo cuuuute.

joshua was aiiiighhhtttt ~ neku is where it was really at. but i wished they put him in a green or blue outfit, purple is so not manly. =P joshua was a funny character but i hated his card combo thingie. i actually had to stare at the ds screen for his combos, y'know. but they weren't as bad as beat's. boooo, beat! boooo!
i only liked shiki for her stuffed cat combo. otherwise, she was just kinda obnoxious. she was always on neku's case and i got excited when he almost ended her [shifty eyes] is that mean? …but i zetta dig.
